It’s been a
busy couple of months. But, thankfully, I’m now all caught up and ready to face
the next set of challenges head on.
The first
piece of news is that Season of the wolf had finally entered the editing stage.
The first run of edits finished last week, and I’m pretty happy with how things
turned out. I learnt a lot along the way, so look out for another posting in
the coming weeks about that.
I stalled on
the second run of edits to finish up another novella I’ve been working on
called Godless. I’ve Tweeted about it on several occasions over the last couple
of months because it took me to places I didn’t really want to go, nor had I
intended to go when I started writing it. But I did, as uncomfortable as it
was, and I’m pretty sure it will cause something of a stir when it’s finally
released.
Godless is
now finished and stands at 30,000 words.
I’m planning
to start the first wave of edits on this once I’ve got through the second run
of edits on Season of the wolf.
I’m not sure
how they’ll be released, or in which order, but I’m expecting one, or both, to
be out before the end of the year. Which also means I’ll be looking for
beta-readers for both stories ... so keep reading.
In the
meantime, I have another set of stories waiting in the wings. A four or five
story collection of stories interlinked from the first story to the last. The
first story will set the path and define the characters; the stories which
follow that will chronicle what happens to each of those characters we meet in
the first, and the final story will detail what happens to those characters
years later when they meet for the final time.
It’s an
ambitious plan, but I have notes and outlines and characters lined up that will
last me for quite a while.
Now if
someone could just put a couple more hours in the day, that would be great.
Still, I
love what I do.
Thanks for
reading.
