It may turn out to be a busy year. But I can handle it.

Not so long ago, I spent a few minutes writing a Facebook post about my intentions for 2013. It was honest and straight to the point, though it was not until I’d hit the post button that I realised I’d left myself no room for manoeuvre if things go so horribly wrong.

I’m not expecting things will but, you know, sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you cannot help but fall short of knocking said ball out of the ballpark.

My intention (here we go again) is to put out a novella for Nook and Kindle and find an agent or publisher or both by the end of 2013 for a novel I still have dreams of one day of holding printed and bound in my hand.

I can do it, of course, but the more I look at what I want to achieve the more I wonder if I have left enough scope to deal with whatever problems may arise if the curve ball happens.

I suspect I will never know for sure until it happens – until the pitcher has finally thrown the ball. Only then. I guess, will I know if I’m about to fall short of knocking it out of the park.

Fingers crossed.
