A review: Netflix's The Silence.

I'm late to the party, I  know. But indulge me.

There's a saying that eludes to the fact that nothing, absolutely nothing, is original anymore - that every story has been told at least once before - and in the case of Netflix's The Silence, that seems to ring absolutely true.

First came John Krasinski's A quiet place (2018), then came ... well ... John R. Leonetti's The Silence. You've almost certainly already heard the comparisons before, so I'll spare you.

Suffice to say it's staggering (to me at least) how nobody at Netflix made the comparison,or cared enough to ask at least for a semi-original idea. And at this point I think Netflix ought to take at least half the blame for this.

Netflix original? Really?

I think not.
