Like most other people, I judge a lot of movies by their covers alone. And this, I think, is a commonplace occurrence these days for many a user of streaming movie services. Good movies get sidelined because of bad cover art.
So after countless weeks (maybe even months) of skipping over this particular movie, I elected to give it a shot. And, oh boy, I'm so glad I did.
First things first, though. If you're looking for a film with an original premise, this won't be for you, because the entire film uses a tried (tired?) and tested formula. Let me explain:
Woman + Kids + secluded retreat + a masked madman.
You get the point, right? Sure you do.
Nevertheless, it's not a bad movie; it's really not. And once you get over what I can only describe as a slow start, I promise you'll find more than a just handful of scenes later on which will make watching this all the more worthwhile.
