I consider myself to be something of a creative – there are
always a million ideas for things running around on the inside of my head – but
I’m also the world’s best procrastinator.
For the most part I’ll start something with the best of
intentions (I usually have everything planned out in my head and see the finish
line long before I actually get there), but, then, things happen. And by things
I mean, sometimes, the going might get a little tough (we never see those
things coming despite always imagining the finishing line), or I’ll step away for
a moment (coffee is always a distraction) and find something else which
suddenly garners my attention. Hell, I can even be going at one project when
another suddenly sidetracks me and takes me away from what I was doing.
At which point I might never return to the previous project again for quite
some time.
It drives me mad. But we’ve all been there, right?
Sure we have.
Well, today I made a rather late resolution. I’m going to
stop with all the bullshit and keep ploughing through what I’m doing at the
time, and to hell with everything else.
I’ve spent far too much time in recent months wishing I’d
finished on this and that. So from here on in, it’s all about finishing up
before moving on.
Once upon a time I use to have allotted periods of time when
art would come after writing or vice versa. But somewhere along the way (I’d
like to blame life in general, but I suspects it’s not that) everything got
ruined. I don’t know how it happened, but I’m sure as hell going to fix it.
It might upset some people, but that’s the way it’s going to
be.
So, all being well, here’s what I can promise: in 2016 I
will have self published a collection of 4 novella’s (it might be a gathering
of novelette’s, actually) and the long spoken about werewolf novel.
In the meantime, I will also still be producing artwork for
book covers (those things happen quickly), so if you’re looking for a cover and
want a quick turnaround (usually within the week), hit the link above and send
me an e-mail and we’ll talk business.
